Pork Chops in Beer recipe
While beer makes a good base for most stewed meats, it makes pork taste divine. Succulent braised onions and pork chops become slightly sweet and ever-so-soft from a simple beer broth, making this dish one to remember.
Ingredients:
4 large pork chops
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (12-ounce) can beer
½ cup sliced onions
Directions:
Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Add chops and brown on both sides, 6 to 8 minutes total.
Add beer and onions and reduce heat to low. Cover and cook until chops are no longer pink and sauce is reduced, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve.

Was great cooked with lime slices and jalapeño peppers! Used Montreal steal seasoning and my boys loved it.
Super Easy!
I used 5 small pork chops,
grapeseed oil, salt and pepper,
a whole onion, and
2 cans of Dos Equis XX beer.
I kept the lid off the whole time and let it boil down until was actually a glaze. DELICIOUS!
I figured with all ingredients,
each 3 oz pork chop: 400 calories
baked potato with sour cream and bacon bits: 260 calories
green salad with balsamic dressing: 100 calories
Awesome dinner,
a total of 760 calories
This was delicious! I made a gluten free version by using Gluten free beer! I added fresh chilli, garlic and bay leaves! Gave it a nice kick! Yum!
Who came up with the idea of gluten free beer and I really would like to know how they can make beer gluten free?
There is some good details about Gluten-free beer on Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gluten-free_beer
Add crushed fennel seeds to this one and it's perfect. (fennel + pork = paradise)
Pretty tasty. Flavor lacked a little but with some alterations could be a little better. Used a raspberry wheat beer, a little zing. Can't wait to make again
My husband and I loved this. I put pork rub and coarse pepper on one side, sea salt and the pepper on the other. Ours were thick cut, so I cooked them ten minutes longer, took the lid off and cooked on high for one minute like suggested. Yum!
My family loved this! I added a little more seasoning. At the end, I took the lid off and turned the heat all the way up for about one minute. My picky son even ate it!!
So, I made this recipe but with a twist or two. Instead of just salt and pepper, I added some other spices and just covered the chops with them and I had to remove the lid at the end, turn the stove to high and have the liquid reduce to a better consistency. They were awesome, boyfriend loved them, will definitely be making them again!!
Tried it, gross, bland, needs some other spice or something.
